Directions

Basic directions: 1 serving - Water or milk: 1 1/4 cup - Salt (optional): dash - Cream of Buckwheat®: 1/4 cup. Basic directions: 2 servings - Water or milk: 2 1/2 cups - Salt (optional): 1/2 tsp - Cream of Buckwheat®: 1/2 cup. Basic directions: 4 servings - Water or milk: 5 cups - Salt (optional): 3/4 tsp - Cream of Buckwheat®: 1 cup. 1. Bring water or milk and salt to boil. 2. Stir in Cream of Buckwheat®. 3. Return to boil. Reduce heat to low; simmer 10 minutes stirring frequently. Microwave directions: for 1 serving stir 1/4 cup of Cream of Buckwheat® and a dash of salt into 3/4 cup of water or milk in a 2 to 3 cup bowl. Microwave, uncovered, on medium 1-1/2 to 3 minutes, depending on microwave wattage. Let stand 1 to 2 minutes. Grits: Cream of Buckwheat® makes wonderful grits. Follow directions above. Serve with butter and season to taste. Special diets and infants: infants and individuals on special diets thrive on Cream of Buckwheat® cereal. It is wheat free and gluten free which makes it extremely easy to digest (digests slowly). An ideal starter food for infants and, of course, because Pocono Cream of Buckwheat® cereal is 100% pure organic buckwheat you never have to worry about artificial additives, fortifiers, or preservatives. Follow directions above using water, infants formula, or milk and Cream of Buckwheat® cereal omitting salt. To serve: stir in infant formula or milk for desired consistency. Leftovers: freeze prepared Cream of Buckwheat® cereal in ice cube trays. When frozen, store cubes in container in freezer and micro-wave or heat on stove as needed.
