Microwave*For 1 serving, combine water, grits and salt in 2 cup microwavable bowl; stir.1. For 1 serving, combine 1 cup water, 1/4 cup grits, and a dash of salt (optional). 2. Microwave on High 3 to 4 minutes or until thickened when stirred.*Microwave ovens vary in power; cooking time may need to be adjusted. Stove Top1. Slowly stir grits and salt into briskly boiling water.For 1 serving, combine 1 cup water, 1/4 cup grits and a dash of salt (optional).For 4 servings, combine 4 cups water, 1 cup grits, and 1/4 tsp. salt (optional).For 6 servings, combine 6 cups water, 11/2 cup grits, and 1/2 tsp. salt (optional). 2. Reduce heat to medium–low; cover. Cook 5 to 7 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat.
