Microwave* (1 Serving)1. Combine water, grits and salt in 2 cup microwave–safe bowl; stir.2. Slowly stir grits and salt into briskly boiling water.For 1 serving, combine 1/4 cup of grits, 1 cup of water, and a dash of salt (optional).For 4 servings, combine 1 cup of grits, 4 cups of water, and 1/4 tsp. of salt (optional). 2. Reduce heat to medium–low; cover. Cook 5 to 7 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat.
