Adult dogs' feed requirements vary according to their breed, size and activity. Start with this standard chart and vary the amounts according to your dog's appetite and activity level. Feed Pet Pride Crunchy Bites & Bones Dog Food just as it comes from the bag, or if you prefer moisten with water, milk, broth, or gravy for variety. For best results mix 4 parts of dog food to 1 part liquid. Please make sure your pet has access to fresh, clean water at all times. When changing diets the transition can be made easier for your pet by mixing a portion of the previously used pet food with increasing quantities of the new purchase until the new food composes 100 percent of the diet. Usually three or four days of feeding your pet with this old/new mixture will eliminate any temporary disturbances to your pet's system. Toy Breeds: Up to 10 lbs (1/3 - 1 1/4 cups - amounts based on standard 8 oz cup), Small: 10-25 lbs (1 1/4 - 2 1/3 cups - amounts based on standard 8 oz cup), Medium: 25-50 lbs (2 1/3 - 4 cups - amounts based on standard 8 oz cup), Large: 50-75 lbs (4 - 5 1/3 cups - amounts based on standard 8 oz cup). Extra Large: Over 75 lbs (5 1/3 - 9 cups - amounts based on standard 8 oz cup). For over 75 lbs - 5 1/3 cups plus an additional 1/3 cup for every 10 lbs. of body weight over 75 lbs. Puppies: At 5 weeks of age start feeding your puppy a moistened, gruel-like mixture, containing 2 parts food to one part warm milk or water. As the puppy grows older, the amount of liquid should gradually be reduced until the puppy becomes accustomed to dry feeding, or an adult moistened mixture at 6 months. Puppies and growing dogs should be fed often.
