Directions for Cold SaladYou will need:1 tablespoon olive or vegetable oil1 tablespoon cold water1. Fill 3-quart (or larger) saucepan half full with water; heat to boiling. Remove outer plastic wrap, but do not open bag of grains. Carefully place bag of grains in water. Gently boil uncovered 17 minutes, turning bag once. (Cooked grains will fill bag.)2. Stir together Dressing Mix, oil and cold water in medium bowl. Set aside.3. Carefully drain cooking water and bag in colander. Caution: Hot! Rinse unopened bag under cold running water 1 to 2 minutes, turning bag, until grains are cold. Let water drain from bag until dripping stops.4. Cut bag open. Stir grains into dressing. Serve immediately, or refrigerate. (If desired, stir in a few teaspoons more oil to moisten refrigerated salad.) Refrigerate leftovers.To serve warm, after draining in step 3, rinse unopened bag under warm running water 5 seconds, then drain bag until dripping stops. Continue as directed. Serve immediately.Do Not Open Inner Bag of Grains!*Do Not Microwave.*If the bag of grains was opened before cooking, follow these directions: Heat 5 cups Water to boiling in 3-quart (or larger) saucepan. Pour grains into water and reduce heat to prevent boilover. Gently boil uncovered 17 minutes, stirring frequently. Carefully drain in a fine-mesh strainer to retain smaller grains. Gently rinse under cold running water until grains are cold. Drain well.
