Enriched Rice (Niacin, Iron (Ferric Orthophosphate), Thiamin Mononitrate, Folic Acid), Dehydrated Red Beans, Salt, Sugar. Contains 2% or less of: Modified Corn Starch, Hydrolyzed Corn and Soy Protein, Hydrolyzed Wheat Gluten, Partially Hydrogenated Cottonseed and Soybean Oils, Torula Yeast, Yeast Extract, Salt, Natural Flavors, Smoke Flavor, Garlic, Dehydrated Vegetables (Red & Green Bell Peppers, Onion), Spices, Soy Sauce (Soybeans, Wheat, Salt), Maltodextrin, Carmel Color, Disodium Inosinate, Disodium Guanylate, Silicon Dioxide (anti-caking agent).
Stove top instructions: In a large saucepan with tight fitting lid bring 3 & 1/2 cups of water to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of butter or margarine (optional). Then 1 pkg. Vigo red beans and rice, stirring while boiling for 1 minute. Cover saucepan tightly. Reduce heat to simmer, cook for 20-25 minutes. Fluff and serve. This product makes its own gravy. For drier rice, use 3 & 1/4 cups of water. The "big easy" recipe. Serving suggestion for a one-dish meal: add 1/2 lb. sliced smoked sausage or smoked ham at the same time rice is added. Microwave directions: Combine contents of this package, 3 & 3/4 cups hot tap water and 1 tablespoon butter or margarine (optional) in a 1-1/2 quart microwave casserole dish. Cover and microwave on high for 22 minutes. Stir. Let stand, covered for 5 minutes. Serve.
