1. Put 1 cup water in saucepan. Add contents of packet. Stir with wire whisk until completely dissolved. 2. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until mixture comes to a boil. 3. Reduce heat and simmer 1 minute, or until desired consistency is reached. Remove from heat and serve. Makes 4 servings. Chef suggests: Serve over potatoes and poultry. Toss gravy with leftover poultry (heated) and freshly cooked egg noodles for a great next-day dish. For white gravy, replace 1 cup water with 1 1/2 cups milk. Add 1/4 tsp thyme just prior to serving.
