German Style Pot Roast: You Will Need: 1 pound of meat (beef or venison), 2 tbsp vegetable oil, i.e. sunflower, 1-1/2 cups water. Heat vegetable oil in a pan. Brown meat on all sides and set aside. Add water to the meat juice and bring to a boil. Stir in pouch of Maggi Sauerbraten Seasoning Mix and bring back to a boil. Return the meat and cover pot, then roast at low temperature for 60-90 minutes (depending on meat cut or type). Stir the gravy occasionally and turn the meat only once. Tip: Can also be oven-roasted, covered, in an oven-proof roasting pan at 400 degrees F for 60-90 minutes (depending on size of roast). Remove lid about half way through cooking time.
