Basic Bran Muffins: 1 box Hodgson Mill Bran Muffin Mix, 1 tbsp. butter or oil, 1/2 cup milk, 1 egg. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line 6 muffin cups with paper liners or grease muffin cups. Place Hodgson Mill Bran Muffin Mix into mixing bowl; cut in butter or vegetable oil. Add milk and egg. Mix until just blended. Spoon batter into prepared muffin cups. Optional: add 1/2 cup of raisins, chopped apples, shredded carrots or zucchini. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Yield 6 muffins.
