Our Alessi marinara pasta sauce is best when heated only to the point of being ready to serve. Overheating results in the continuation of cooking and changes the flavor. Heat in a medium, heavy bottomed pan and serve over cooked "al dente" pasta. Top with fresh basil leaves and freshly grated cheese, if desired. Refrigerate after opening. Ragu Bolognese: Saute 1/4 cup finely diced carrots, 1/4 cup chopped onion and 1/4 cup chopped celery in 2 tbsp. olive oil until done. Add 1/2 lb. lean ground beef. Cook beef with vegetables until browned. Add jar of pasta sauce. Add 1/2 cup heavy cream, stir until heated. Serve over cooked "al dente" pasta.
